Shockz (Umek Remix) & Once Again (Hertz Remix)

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

1605 has just released their second volume of remixes. The label boss, Umek himself, was very specific with his choice of track he wanted to remix. Of all the tracks he has released on 1605 it was Hertz’sShockz” that he wanted to put his trademark on. Hertz has given Da Fresh’s no.1 track “Once Again” the same treatment.

“It’s been another fantastic season for us here at 1605, with releases spanning all across the Techno and Tech House board. So what better way to celebrate a prolific year than with a remix pack of some of our hottest tracks?

As always, there’s a plethora to choose from, whether it’s Umek’s interpretation of Hertz’sShockz” or Da Fresh’s rendition of Marco Bailey & Tom Hades’ “Tenien”.

Covering all bases, from groovy Tech House to rumbling Techno, this collection gives yet another perspective on the sounds that shaped our listening pleasure.”

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

Quote from Toolrooms release text:

“Key highlights of the album are undoubtedly Phunk Investigation’s relentless ‘Wall Of Sound’ and the pulsating ‘Red Ryder‘ from Hertz which quite literally rips through the speakers with a violent bassline forming the equivalent of a heavy blow to the back of the skull.”

Hertz – Bipolar EP out on Respekt

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Bipolar EP is just out on Beatport. It’s the latest release from Hertz and has been described by the guys at Respekt as:

The legendary Hertz make their debut on Respekt, after gracing labels such as 1605, Phobiq, Underwater etc.,with their presence.

Their “Bipolar” EP comprises of two slabs of dirty, gritty techno; The title track features a hypnotic loop throughout its length, leaving plenty of space for the intricate percussion, clever edits and bleak atmospherics.

“Manic” is just that, with a hysteric, piercing riff taking charge of things. Underneath, the audio equivalent to a steamroller holds everything together while crashing percussion keeping everyone on their toes.
